Schools Involved:
The programme is offered by the Welsh School of Pharmacy at Cardiff University and leads to a Cardiff University award. The programme is jointly delivered by the Hochschule Fresenius - University of Applied Sciences and Cardiff University at the Hochschule Fresenius - University of Applied Sciences in Idstein, Germany. The course is not available for study in Cardiff
and not available for distance learning.
Course of Studies

Master of Science in International Pharmacoeconomics & Health Economics
Objective:
To provide education and training for candidates who wish to develop skills
and knowledge in pharmacoeconomics and health economics.
Language:
The programme is completely delivered in the English language.
Mode of Study:
Full-time (4 semesters) or part-time (6 semesters)
Structure:
The course consists of modules to the value of 240 Cardiff University
Credits (Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme), which include a
dissertation of 60 CATS credits and healthcare/pharmaceutical industry
placement of 60 CATS credits. Students completing 240 CATS will be eligible for
a Master degree. 240 CATS are equivalent to 120 ECTS (European Credit Transfer
and Accumulation System)

Application requirements
- An undergraduate degree (Bachelor/honours degree or equivalent) of at least 360 CATS or 180 ECTS points in a health or pharmaco-related field of study
- If the undergraduate studies are not directly related to health economics or health sciences, the applicant must provide proof of at least 6 months relevant practical or theoretical health care experience, which shall be submitted in written form.
- At the discretion of the admission committee, non-graduates whose relative lack of formal qualification is compensated for by relevant work experience may also be admitted to candidature, provided that the candidate has held, for a minimum period of two years, a position of responsibility relevant to the programme.
- If English is not the native language of the student, proof of one of
the following results in the respective language tests must be provided:
- a) TOEFL Internet-Based Test (iBT) of 90 points
- b) IELTS: a minimum of 6.5 points
- c) Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English, Grade B
